Prerequisites: Basic Keelboat Sailing (ASA 101 Certification)

This course prepares students to skipper boats up to 30 feet on the San Francisco Bay and around the world. Students learn the fundamentals of sailing, motoring, and docking on Catalina 27s. The course covers check-out/check-in procedures, anchoring, heavy weather sailing, trip planning, man overboard drills, and downwind sailing using a whisker pole and jibe preventer.

This four day course is taken over two consecutive week modules spanning on either Sat/ Sun, Mon/Tues, or Thur/Fri.  The classroom portion will be held over ZOOM from 9:00-11:00 followed by your “on the water” portion at the marina from 12:30-4:30 with up to three students per boat.
