This event is intended for skippers and crew who are interested in racing and developing racing skills.
In the classroom we’ll hear how races are conducted and formatted, where races are advertised and how to enter, how the racing rules apply around the course and what to do if we think rules have been broken.
On the water we’ll practice start techniques, mark roundings, upwind, reaching and running legs and finishing, as well as boat control drills designed to develop our close quarters handling and speed control. We’ll practice on short race courses, with lots of maneuvers and lots of repetitions. Expect to do a lot of tacks, jibes and roundings.
