Spinnaker Sailing offers members a One Design Race program that runs on Wednesday evenings during the summer and Weekend days during the winter. All members are welcome to join in! Racing is also very social with strong camaraderie within and between crews, on the water and afterward. Our neighbors at Sequoia Sailing club make us welcome after racing for food, beverage and mingling among the Merit fleet and their members.  It’s a great way to make new friends or bring your own friends and family.

QUALIFICATIONS TO RACE 

To Participate as crew – minimum pre-requisites

As Race Crew – on an instructor led boat

• ASA 101 – Basic Keelboat Certification or equivalent experience
• Be a Spinnaker Sailing club member
• All crew must complete and sign a race waiver form.

You will need to sign some crew race waiver forms associated with the season. The Sequoia Yacht Club form is done entirely online and the Spinnaker Sailing form will be attached to your confirmation and should get emailed back to us.

Ready to Race?

Please be advised, it is often a wet ride! You should plan on wearing sailing gloves and as well as foul weather gear. We would also recommend bringing a change of clothes for when you get back.
