Sanjin Tulac

ASA Certified Instructor for Basic Keelboat Sailing, Basic Coastal Cruising, Docking Endorsement, Bareboat Cruising, Coastal Navigation, Cruising Catamaran

Ever since his first day-sail in the summer of 1974, on a custom made sloop at the Croatian island of Hvar, Sanjin has seized every opportunity to harness the power of wind to move over water, be it on a dinghy, windsurf, kiteboard, racing or cruising monohull keelboat, or a catamaran.

In 1997, Sanjin’s software engineering career brought him to Silicon Valley and San Francisco Bay, which he has sailed ever since. Both the frequency and the quality of his sailing endeavours have drastically increased since joining Spinnaker Sailing in 2013, and starting to participate in its one-design keelboat racing program. Beyond Adriatic coast of his native Croatia and San Francisco Bay, Sanjin’s sailing playgrounds have so far also included Monterey Bay and Half Moon Bay in California, Banderas Bay and Sea of Cortez in Mexico, and Hawaiian as well as British Virgin Islands.

Sanjin is thrilled to share his passion for and knowledge of sailing with fellow sailors of any level of expertise in a safe, fun and educational environment provided by Spinnaker Sailing of Redwood City. If you happen to speak Croatian, Serbian, Slovenian, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Latin, Python, Java or C++, he’ll be happy to switch from English to your language of choice. Sailing terminology used on the sailboat, however, will need to adhere to strict ASA standards in English.
