Our weekday sailing classes begin the first week in March. Basic Keelboat, Basic Coastal Cruising will be taught Mon-Fri from 9:30am to 4:30pm. Check our schedule online for more dates and times.

Basic Coastal Review Class

             12:30p - 4:30p

This is an all on the water course designed to get you sailing safely and with confidence. This class is limited to the first 4 students so Reserve your space now. This is a great class for skippers or their crew who have taken the basic classes and need a little skills refresher with a skipper before taking on the responsibilities of chartering a boat.

Bareboat Charter Class

≈ March 13, 14, 20, 21 ≈
          9:30a - 4:30p

Get ready to sail the big boats. Learn to use the inboard diesel engines, electrical panels, kitchens, heads and all of the nice toys that accompany a well appointed sailing yacht. The first weekend you will study the boats systems and motoring and docking a larger boat and plan your trip to the north bay. The second weekend you will sail and navigate your way to the north San francisco bay, moore the boat and possibly go to town for dinner, then sleep aboard the yacht in the shadow of the City. In the morning you will cook and eat breakfast on board while taking your test, sail around San Francisco for awhile and then sail and navigate your way back home. They are run only once per month so If you or anyone you know is interested please register now.

Spinnaker Class

This Spinnaker Class is totally dedicated to teaching you the ins and outs of using the Spinnaker. You will learn all the basics of hoisting, dousing, gybing, packing and handling the granddaddy of all sails. This class is only run once a month. If you or anyone you know is interested please register now. This is a must have class for those interested in racing.

Motoring and Docking Endorsement ASA 118

Though docking and mooring is taught and practiced in all ASA’s on-the-water courses, the vast majority of students feel that they can benefit from additional, focused practice in this crucial area of their sailing skills. Even students who can competently dock a particular sailboat in their local waters appreciate the chance to learn skills that will come in handy in different locations and circumstances, such as those that would be experienced when strong currents and tricky crosswinds are present, or when Mediterranean mooring or tight, close-quarters maneuvering is required.

This hands-on course allows students to learn theory and practice repetitive docking and casting-off maneuvers to reinforce understanding of theory, methods and skills. Both novice and experienced sailors will benefit from this course as the techniques apply to small outboard powered boats in the 15- to 20-foot range on up to 50-foot inboard single-screw cruising yachts. Sign up early so you can get your study materials ahead of time.

Mini cruise to the North Bay

We have a two day cruise to the north bay. Possible destinations include Pier 40, Angel Island, Jack London Square... Reservations are required and Club members Save 25%.

All Day Sail to San Francisco

We will head north to the central bay and then have a nice peaceful sail back home. This is not only a fantastic way to spend the day on the bay, but also a great experience for any aspiring skippers who wish to sail up to the north bay with their own family or crew. Contact us for availability.

Evening Cruises Begin

Its time again to go sailing in the early evenings on the San Francisco Bay. This fun two hour sail is skippered by one of our instructors so you can get some sailing tips or just sit back and relax and enjoy the end of a day on the bay!

Croatia - September 8 - 19

We are now booking cabins for a trip to scenic and historic Croatia. This jewel is often referred to as "The way the Mediterranean used to be." It's not often a sailing club gets to the Adriatic so this could be your only chance. This will be our first trip to the Dalmatian Islands, If you think you would like to go contact Bob A one hundred dollar deposit is all that is needed to reserve your spot.

Beercan Racing Meeting

Attention all Beercan skippers.

Please make sure you attend this very important and informative meeting if you are going to accept responsibility for skippering a boat in the Wednesday night racing series. You will be expected to know this information even if you do not attend. We will go over right of way, safety and certain racing rules, communication, race schedules, skipper responsibilities and more. The meeting will take place at the Seaport Conference Center, right next door to Spinnaker Sailing. Please RSVP in advance if you are planning on attending.

Winter Racing Series

We will be racing Merit 25's on the third Sunday every month from November through April .

If you want to be crew, check out SailMates and see if anyone is looking for crew or announce your availability for a race to any skipper who is short handed. Start time is 1:00pm and you must finish by 4:00pm. Check out last years webpage to see how it works.
