Basic Coastal Cruising Review Classes
April 19

We will be holding our BCC Review class April 19. This 5 hour class class is for BCC graduates who haven't been sailing in a while and would like a refresher course to get you back sailing with confidence. The class runs 12p-5p. There are only 4 spaces in this class. Contact us to to register for this class!

Huge Success

Celestial Navigation Class

All 10 students in our Celestial Navigation class graduated last month. Congratulations to Leslie and all the students for doing such a great job.

Weekday Classes Have Begun
Going on Now

The weekday classes have begun. Mon - Thurs classes for both Basic Keelboat and Basic Coastal Cruising will be running on alternating weeks. There is room in our April 21 BKS class and the 4/19 BCC class. If you or anyone you know is interested please register early.

The Spinnaker Class April 19,20,26,27 still has a couple of spaces left. If you or anyone you know is interested please register now. This is a must have experience for racers.

 

 

South Bay Opening Day
April 19

There will be a breakfast at the Sequoia Yacht Club in the morning, followed by a boat parade, then a blessing of the fleet. Lunch will also be offered at the Yacht club as well. This is a fun day for the whole family. Charter a yacht and join the parade, watch the outrigger canoes race. Lots of activities to participate and watch.

Mini cruise to the North Bay
April 26 - 27

We have a two day cruise to the north bay scheduled for the weekend of April 26-27. Great sailing during the day and a fun night in The City. Go shopping, eat on the wharf, see a Giants game. Reservations are required and Club members Save 25% off the boat charter.

All Day Sail to Treasure Isle
April 13

We have room for up to six people to sail with us to the north bay on Sunday March 13th, hopefully getting up to the Golden Gate Bridge with a long downwind run all the way home. This is not only a fun trip, but great experience for any aspiring skippers who wish to sail up to the north bay with their own family or crew. Contact us for availability. Happy Cruising!

12 - 4 Afternoon Sail
April 20

Sunday April 20th we will be having an afternoon sail out on the South San Francisco Bay. This cruise is open to anyone who wishes to come. The cost is only $65 per person, and Free for Club members. Contact us for availability.

Evening Cruising
Fridays & Saturdays

Every Friday and Saturday we will have one of our instructors take out 4 people on a relaxing two hour sail on the San Francisco Bay. Please see our schedule for exact dates and times. This is a great way to get more practice, or just get out on the water without having to get a crew . Call ahead for reservations.

The first official Beercan race of the season is Wed, April 9. Sign up to get your own boat, or be part of a crew. Qualified club members are invited to participate.

Monthly race meeting
May 2

Our April 4th race meeting was well attended with close to 40 sailors. We had a chance to go over many things including, the basic philosophy of Wednesday night racing, some of the racing rules and some situational discussions to help clarify any misunderstandings as to right of way.

We want all those who are planning to participate in the Wednesday night racing attend the race meeting to stay informed with all the aspects and rules that goven safe participation.

If you missed the first one, we will have another one May 2 at 5:45pm. This meeting will last about an hour.

Topics include: right of way rules, skippers responsibilities, liabilities, penalties and general safety.

BVI June 2008 Trip!
June 19 - 29

We currently have 16 sailors signed up to go to the British Virgin Islands in June of this year. 2 Catamarans are full. We are still accepting reservations for anyone wanting to join in on this trip. We will leave SFO Thursday evening June 19 and return Sunday June 29. The British Virgin Islands will be celebrating the Summer Sailstice during this time. This cruise is perfect for those with kids in school or those who can't get away during December. It's also the perfect place to earn you bareboat Charter certofication.
