2012 Summer Youth Camp

These fun and exciting one-week sailing camps run Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm every week from June 8th through September at Spinnaker Sailing School in Redwood City. This program is designed for kids ages 11-17 years old.
Each day consists of classroom, dockside and on the water instruction. Groups of up to 4 students will receive classroom instruction and will get hands on experience learning to sail 22 foot keelboats.
The Basic Keelboat Camp
Students will learn:
safety, aids to navigation, right of way rules, nomenclature, rigging, sail theory, trim, balance, basic sailing quadrant. setting up the boat, hoisting sail, points of sail,
steering, tacking, jibing, trimming, crew overboard recovery, maneuvering under power, docking and more.
Spinnaker Sailing School has been teaching kids and adults how to sail since 1980. Instructors are certified by the American Sailing Association and besides being excellent sailors are GREAT
teachers making learning safe and fun!
What to Bring:
Students should dress comfortably and wear soft-soled shoes (no black soles). Bring a backpack or duffel with a jacket, sunscreen, hat (with strap or clip), and sunglasses with strap. Kids should bring their own lunch and something to drink.

$740 for each one-week camp.
