Qualifications

• ASA BKS, BCC, BBC, Cruising Catamaran Instructor Certified

• USCG 100 ton Master w/ sailing & towing endorsements

• CPR-First Aid- Oxygen and AED Certified Instructor

• Avid Single handed sailor

• Padi certified Rescue Diver

Roy's love of sailing started on the great lake in Michigan at the age of 8. In his teen years he sailied in Hawaii in the beer can races along waikiki beach. Roy subsequently joined the merchant marines and traveled the world landing in San Francisco in 1997. He decided to change careers and become a captain and instructor. He took all of his first sailing classes from BKS through BBC right here at Spinnaker Sailing. Roy has acquired a great deal of knowledge of the SF bay as well as sailing in Tahiti, the California coast and the British Virgin Islands.
