Originally from Cleveland, Kaki Brzytwa grew up sailing with her family on the Great Lakes. Prior to moving to the Bay Area in August of 2006, Kaki sailed competitively on her J24, Ghost, and served for several years as a fleet captain and committee member for the Great Lakes Women's Sailing Association, the largest competitive women's sailing organization in the United States. A former pro tall-ship sailor aboard the Freedom Schooner Amistad, she enjoys being an ambassador for the sport of sailing and teaching classes at Spinnaker. For her other job, Kaki works as a non-profit executive specializing in grant writing, research, program development and community outreach in service to low-income and vulnerable populations. When not instructing on the water, Kaki manages the pit on a J120 racing crew and cruises with friends on the San Francisco Bay. Kaki loves spending time with her exquisite and angelic yellow lab, Francis, and having adventures throughout bay area. She likes to bring beer to book club and she is convinced that Bob Diamond knows absolutely everything. |
