beercan racing WEDNESDAY NIGHT BEERCAN RACING

Spinnaker Sailing joins in on the Sequoia Yacht Clubs Wednesday Night Beercan Racing Series.
This is an informal race series that runs April through September. The racing utilizes a PHRF handicap rating system for boats so starting times may vary for different boats. The Merit 25 all start together and provide matched competition. This is a fun way to get out on the water, refine your sailing skills and develop camaraderie with your fellow sailing buddies. For a good description of what the attitude towards this event should be, see, "The Ten Commandments of Beercan Racing," written by the folks at Lattudtude 38 and spiffed up by us.

You must be a Basic Coastal Cruising Graduate or better in order to participate on a Spinnaker Sailing Skippered yacht. Club members skipperring their own boats must have attended one of Spinnaker Sailing race seminars.

You can race your own charter boat or come along as an individual. Make reservations in advance as these are sure to fill up. The race starts vary according to class with the Merit 25's starting at 5:50pm, so be here by 5:15pm in order to be at the starting line on time.

This is FREE! for Club members and their crew.

Family and Friends are only $30 per person on an instructor skippered yacht.

North Bay Sails NORTH BAY All DAY SAIL

Participants may charter one of Spinnaker Sailing boats and join the flotilla or sign up as an individual (or couple) to sail on a yacht skippered by one of our instructors. The flotilla will set sail at 9:00AM and head for San Francisco. Wind and current permitting we'll sail around the central bay and have a 20 mile sail home. This is a great opportunity to work on your steering skills as there will be longer times on a single heading. Capacity on boats with skippers is 4 - 6 individuals. It's a great way to get sailing time, learn the North Bay, and have fun with other sailors.
