The
Blessing of the Fleet
During the boat parade, A local priest will give a speach and bless the fleet for good luck this sailing season.
Opening
Day Parade
From 11:00am to 12:00pm local boat owners, schools and clubs will dress up boats and parade them in front of the Viewing pier. You are invited to vote on the best boat, and watch them sail or motor by. This can be lots of fun as some of the local schools decorate their boats like, and pardon the pun, "floats".

Start Line Fun
The
formal beginning of the sailing season!
Opening day marks the first Formal
day of the South Bay Boating Season. Boaters of all types come and bring their
boats out on the water to have their vessel blessed by a priest, sail in a
parade, and have a great excuse for a Barbeque!
Here at Spinnaker Sailing we will be having our own special celebration including
Sailing, Barbecuing, parade sailing or watching, and we also have a special
speaker this year
This is FREE! for Club
members. Family and Friends are only $30 per person.
Afternoon Sail
Participants may charter one of
Spinnaker Sailing boats and join the flotilla or sign up as an individual
(or couple) to sail on a yacht skippered by one of our instructors.
The flotilla will set sail Saturday morning and head for San Francisco to
spend the night at South Beach Harbor or other marina. After dining out in
San Francisco and staying over night on the boat, there's time to explore
the North Bay before returning to Redwood City on Sunday. Capacity on boats
with skippers is 4 - 6 individuals. It's a great way to get sailing time,
learn the North Bay, and have fun with other sailors. The cost is $65
per person. Club
members are Free!
Barbeque
Participants will feast on a traditional seaside picnic menu of Hamburgers,
Hotdogs, beans, salad, sodas, bottled water and watermelon. The cost
is $10 per person. Club members of
course are FREE!.

The outrigger racing club will be racing and showing off their boats early in the day. This is always very interesting and lots of fun. Don't miss it.
Small boat sailors will be showing off their skills and parading their boats to celebrate the first official day of the boating season.
