Our Chartering Area
Sailing the San Francisco Bay
San Francisco Bay provides some of the greatest sailing conditions in the world. We are blessed with steady winds spring, summer and fall. Winter sailing is generally more variable. Sailing out of Redwood City you'll enjoy warmer weather and smoother seas making it a great recreational location to sail from. We are located at the Redwood City Marina providing a convenient location for those sailors in the south bay, east bay and peninsula locations. The marina is approximately 20 miles south of the San Francisco Bay Bridge. In the south bay generally the winds are light in the morning and start to fill in around 1:00 pm. The windiest part of the day is between 2:00 and 6:00 pm. For more information on the area and charter destinations see our South Bay Chartering Handbook, or take a look at the segment Channel 5 did on the south bay with Tim Hacnkey and Rich Ferrari on EYE ON THE BAY.
